The restoration and repair of antique, vintage, or modern dolls, is an extension of doll making. I perform all types of repair on all types of dolls. If you have a special doll with problems, whether her eyes have come out, her body is in disrepair, she needs new hair (or restored hair), and new (or restored) clothing, call or e-mail me with specifics. I am happy to visit with you about what can or should be done, and the estimated cost.

This reinforced wax head doll just had too many years of neglect thrown at her, and the wax that made her head finally cracked and warped, along with wear to her waxed muslin body. I replaced her head with a porcelain shoulderhead which I poured from a Kestner mold of the same vintage. Click on either picture above to see the before and after story of the doll and her trouseau.

This little French music box doll came to us needing a good cleaning, legs, and her wood body fixed. She has quite the ingenious ratchet drive music box mechanism--all you do is squeeze her front and back, and she plays a little tune. Her finished picture is at the top of this page.

Oh, Oh, that really hurts!! But I feel much better after going to the doctor to get my splitting headache fixed. By the way, I am a Kestner 13.

The problems with this 1930's vintage composition baby doll are pretty obvious. Her beautiful eyes made her owner want to see her have a new lease on life.

I am a Saucy Walker from the 1940's. I'm not made to sit, but sometimes my owners forget that, and this is what happens to me. I'm all fixed now, and can walk again.

Simon&Halbig Century Bottle Tot. The original celluloid arms were beyond repair, so now he has composition arms, and a new cloth body.

Kestner 154, torn apart by the family dogs. Luckily, the wig was not destroyed, but the kid body and clothing had to be replaced. The body was replaced with a "found" Kestner kid body.
